Aberg has a knee issue and said he needed a week of rest. ... Quail Hollow will host the PGA Championship next year for the second time. ... Webb Simpson, a Quail Hollow member, received one of four sponsor exemptions. He has received four exemptions to signature events this year. ... The top three finishers from the CJ Cup Byron Nelson — Taylor Pendrith, Ben Kohles and Alex Noren — played their way into the Wells Fargo Championship through the Swing Five. Dominican Republic winner Billy Horschel also is part of the Swing Five and makes his debut in a signature event this year. ... The winner gets into the PGA Championship next week if not already eligible.
